CAS Overall Reflection

It is time to analyze my CAS activities and I have found my two years participating in the IB CAS program to be incredibly beneficial, in a multitude of different respects. CAS has taught me several lessons, and in particular it has been an excellent way for me to explore new activities and tasks and help me discover those that I enjoy compared to those that I do not. I believe that I have also, over the course of the two years, achieved all eight of the learning outcomes. (see my dedicated post on this matter link to my post)

CAS has helped me learn more about myself, and through the participation in various activities in San Patricio,  I was able to learn more about my likes and dislikes, as well as more about my own personal strengths and weaknesses. For example, through the athletics  competition  I learned that I am capable to participate at a good level even if I am not fully prepared, and this experience has provided me a lot of confidence in my own capabilities in other activities.
I have also undertaken many new challenges. I think this was particularly evident in my work this year, particularly in the Creativity and Action fields. I dedicated a lot of efforts to Poetry and my short movie planning and preparation. I believe that I have showed perseverance and commitment in all my activities, the levels of those have definitely varied depending on the activity.

Throughout the two years I have also planned and initiated various activities.I started to donate and help in San Juan de Dios Shelter for the homeless and activity which if it was not for CAS I would not have started doing and it has come to open my wiew on this matter. That, plus my catholic preparation for my confirmation, have really impact me on the ethical level of my actions. I also helped kids on their first communion and maybe them can have their ethical vision expanded as I did.

Also I have use a lot of activities to discover myself, a great example of this has been my poetry and drawing work it has really showed me what can I do instead of loosing my free-time in other activities that don't really stimulate my creativity

As I have said multiple times in this blog planning is not one of my strengths therefore maintaining a blog for two years has been a challenge by itself, not only that but some activities required me to planned my week like Athleticism where I had twice a week in the afternoon and therefore plan in advance with that in mind other activities

Finally, CAS has truly helped me to develop new skills and it has greatly impacted my life, and among other things, provided me with an excellent skill set for the future.
